What is Canvas in a Flash?
Purpose
The purpose of this self-paced training is to provide an introduction to the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for Kent State students.
Time Required
It should take about 1.5 hours to review all of the Canvas in a Flash materials.

- Navigate a Canvas course
- Review timely information in the calendar and class announcements
- Communicate with instructors and fellow classmates
- Complete coursework in class discussions, assignments, quizzes and exams

Module Structure
Canvas in a Flash features four modules. Modules cover several topics, highlight different Canvas tools, and provide tips to consider with each topic.
- Module 1: Welcome to Canvas!
Getting started in Canvas with the Dashboard, Account Profile, Navigating Courses, Flash Books, and the Canvas Student App. - Module 2: Participating & Staying on Track
Stay informed and engaged in your Canvas classes with the Calendar, Announcements, the Inbox, and Microsoft Teams Meetings for live/online classes (for some classes). - Module 3: Completing Coursework
Complete and submit coursework in Canvas with Discussions, Assignments, Quizzes, and be sure to review your progress and feedback with Grades. - Module 4: Helpful Tips & Next Steps
Review options for additional support for online learning and any help needed with Canvas along the way!
